Attention 6th grade parents: All students entering 7th grade (next school year) are required to provide proof of having received the 1st dose of Meningitis vaccine (Menactra) and a booster dose of TDaP (Adacel/Boostrix). These vaccines are in addition to vaccines given to your child prior to age 5. Reminder letters will be sent in early April.
Parents of current 6th grade students:
• Check with your child’s doctor to see if the vaccines have already been given.
• Schedule an appointment for vaccines by August.
• Provide a current written vaccine record to the school nurse prior to next school year. (Students may hand deliver vaccine copies to our nurse at any time.)

March 16-22, 2025 is POISON PREVENTION WEEK in Maryland. Glance at the following list of poison prevention tips provided by the Maryland Poison Center. Enter the POISON HELP hotline in your phone: 1-800-222-1222 to always be ready for a poison emergency.
• Avoid storing poisons in low cabinets—use cabinet locks
• Safely discard expired/unused medicines and cleaning chemicals.
• Keep medicine and potential poisons in their original labeled containers.
• Know the names of flowers and plants in your home and yard—remind your children to never eat any berries or leaves these plants may produce and guard your animals as well.
Contact the MARYLAND POISON CENTER as soon as you expect a poison or overdose may have occurred. Do not wait for symptoms!! Expert advice is free and confidential. Be poison safe—it can save a life.
